When you buy something duty-free, you are not required to pay taxes on it in the country where you purchased it. Liquors offer the largest savings in Bermuda. You are allowed to take a "reasonable amount" of liquor from Bermuda to the United States. There is a duty-free allowance, but you merely pay overage to U.S. Customs at the airport. Even with the duty, prices are often lower than those in the United States. Be sure to visit The Duty Free Shops in Bermuda and pack some pineapples in your suitcase.
